Central State logoThe winner of of our gift card giveaway was Matt Pattillo with Central State Sanitation!

He was nominated by his colleague Cari Cotton because:

“This man is amazing with our customers. He is always there to lend a hand to our small company, wherever it is needed. It is employees like him that help makes a service-oriented business great.”

Pattillo has been with Central State Sanitation for four years and he loves his job.

“it’s a fun job — I like to meet people and help people out,” Pattillo said. “It’s not for everybody, but it’s for me.”

Central State Sanitation is an environmentally friendly business that offers septic system maintenance, products and portable toilet rentals. Pattillo originally started working with the owner of the company as a mechanic. Then he decided to become a driver so he could do both jobs. He’s happy with his choice because he’s able to make more money. However, this line of work definitely has it’s crazy moments.

“I’m a big guy, so they call me squatch at work, like bigfoot,” he said. “One time, I was working at local mobile home park and I was doing a pump. We were trying to find out where the tank was, but it was covered in vines. Then I walked across it and I‘m a bigger guy so the tank collapsed and I fell in. Luckily, I caught myself with my legs so I was able to stop myself from falling all the way in.”
