Feature Release Update: November 2018

In the month of November, ServiceCore released a ton of new features for the web and mobile app. Every new feature will help customers run their business more efficiently. If you have any questions about our new features, or you’re interested in a feature that we don’t have, please let us know! 

November 2018 New Features

New ServiceCore Features:

Custom Site Types: Under “Settings”, “Custom Fields” and the “Site” tab, admins can now define custom site types. The existing site types are Residential, Commercial and Government, but they can be deactivated. Since sites are your service locations, you can now define your service areas or markets specifically to your company’s needs. This way your site types will be associated to a job and later to an invoice.

Custom Job Types: Under “Settings”, “Custom Fields” and the “Job” tab, admins can now create custom job types. The existing job types are Rental-Delivery, Rental-Service and Rental-Pickup, but they can be deactivated.

Edit Recurring Template: The “Recurring” tab in accounting offers now the functionality of “editing the recurring template”. Now you can easily make updates to the invoice template before your monthly batch billing.

Condensed Jobs on Weekly Schedule: If your company is scheduling more than 500 jobs per week, you will see a condensed view of your jobs. It will show you the job totals per day and technician. Individual jobs can still be viewed by clicking on the job total. The condensed view offers a better overview and improves the schedule performance.

Customer Attachments: You can now add and view any customer specific attachments. Simply go to your “Customer” page and find the new tab called “Attachments”.

Product Quantity on Schedule: The Day and List view on the schedule now contain the product quantity.

Inactive Customer Search: We improved the customer search so you can easily view inactive customers alongside your active ones.

Remove Gallons Label from Product Size: When using the size field on your inventory products, you can enter now any size type (e.g. tons, pounds).

Rename Tax Rate to Tax Code: We renamed the tax rate field to tax code in anticipation of tax updates that will contain functionality for tax breakdowns into city, state and federal entities. (Stay tuned).

Offline Mode for Mobile App: Our ServiceCore mobile app now has an offline mode for iOS and Android to help view and complete jobs. Quick summary for best practices:

  • Download all jobs for the day before you enter offline mode.
  • Remember to sync again once all jobs are completed at the end of the day.
  • As soon as data, service or WiFi is available, the driver will be prompted to sync.
  • At this point, there are no alerts when a job is edited or the job order has changed in the back office.
  • Any driver job updates will overwrite back office changes.

Inventory Management/Barcode Scanning: Your ServiceCore app now offers inventory management on the mobile app. In addition to that, you can associate barcodes with any of your serialized inventory. Simply select your product item, scan its barcode and it’ll get associated. On your next delivery job, you only need to barcode scan during the job completion.

GPS Recording of Units: You can now record the GPS location of any serialized unit. While out on delivery, service or after pickup, simply click the GPS icon and the current location will be saved. This way you will always know where your units are located. If you are scanning barcodes on delivery, it will update the units GPS location automatically.

Display Product Quantity: The technician’s job list will now show the total quantity of units for each job.
